WHY KIDS LOVE IT

More Than a Martial Art: It's a Life Skill

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teaches children how to solve problems under pressure, respect others, and never give up. Prof. Ernesto James has developed an age-appropriate curriculum that builds character as much as technique.

  • Anti-bullying awareness & de-escalation
  • Situational self-defense skills
  • Respectful, structured mat culture
  • Goal-setting through belt & stripe system
  • Focus and discipline that transfers to school
  • Building lifelong friendships

WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL GAIN

More Than Martial Arts

Focus & Discipline

Kids learn to listen, follow instructions, and apply themselves both on and off the mat.

Strength & Fitness

Every class builds coordination, balance, and full-body strength in a fun and active environment.

Confidence & Self-Defense

Children develop the ability to protect themselves while building genuine self-belief.

Respect & Teamwork

Training with peers teaches kids how to communicate, cooperate, and treat others with respect.

Goal Setting & Achievement

Belt progressions give kids a clear system for setting goals and experiencing the reward of hard work.

Fun & Community

A welcoming, energetic environment where kids make lasting friendships and love coming to class.

FOR THE PARENTS

Benefits You'll See Every Day

Parents consistently tell us the changes they see at home are just as impressive as what happens on the mat.

Bully-Proof Confidence

Your child learns to handle conflict without aggression and develops the quiet confidence that prevents bullying in the first place.

Better Focus at School

The concentration required on the mat directly improves attention span, listening skills, and academic performance.

Consistent Discipline

Children learn to respect instruction, follow structure, and persevere through challenges, values they carry into every area of life.

Positive Friendships

Kids train with peers who share the same values of respect and hard work, building lasting friendships in a positive social environment.

Physical Fitness

No screens, no sidelines. BJJ is a full-body workout disguised as play, improving strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance.

Clear Goal System

The belt & stripe system gives children concrete, achievable goals, teaching them that hard work and persistence lead to real rewards.

Really great folks there. Dropped in to train while travelling and had a great time. Really appreciate their kindness and hospitality. Fantastic instructors, friendly students. All ages of adults from 20s to 50s+. Super chill and welcoming environment. Saw the tail end of the kids class while waiting for adult class to start. Solid kids program. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in town. If you're looking for a place for you or your kids to train, 10/10 highly recommend. As a brown belt, if I lived here, this is where I would be training.

I started my jujitsu journey back in 2018 and was never consistent up through covid in 2020. Coach Ernesto always kept in touch and even though I'm older than him, he took the time to check in on me and let me know he was there, for life things not just jujitsu. My good friend Tony (early morning class tone setter) after 4 years of always throwing out that invite to come back… I finally took him up on it.… Last night I was awarded my Blue Belt along with other warriors I get to train with but Tony earned his Brown belt. God is good!!! Professor Flavio and his wife are amazing motivators and their talent supersedes any I've ever seen. This Team has become Family to me… it has filled that gap the Army left when I separated from military service. Hands down the best gym environment with superior Professors leading the way! Thx you Ares for all you do!!! Love y'all Fen

Great gym. I was in from out of town and they let me drop in with no mat fees. Super clean spot, with really nice people. Also I got rolled up pretty handedly, that means their Jits is good as well. Will be back next time I'm in Omaha.

Couldn't ask for anything better! My son wanted to try it out and he's learned a ton in the short time he's been there. The team is great with kids and walks through everything so the kids understand what is being asked. To top it off they are all very friendly! There is an adult class after the kids and they all seem to be excited for class to start as well. Overall it's a really great place!

I'm a brown belt and visited Omaha for about a month and a half. I trained at Ares multiple times during my stay. Very welcoming environment from both the instructors and the students. I would recommend Ares BJJ Omaha to anyone in the area that is looking to train regardless of if you are a beginner or a seasoned practitioner.
