Really great folks there. Dropped in to train while travelling and had a great time. Really appreciate their kindness and hospitality. Fantastic instructors, friendly students. All ages of adults from 20s to 50s+. Super chill and welcoming environment. Saw the tail end of the kids class while waiting for adult class to start. Solid kids program. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in town. If you're looking for a place for you or your kids to train, 10/10 highly recommend. As a brown belt, if I lived here, this is where I would be training.

I started my jujitsu journey back in 2018 and was never consistent up through covid in 2020. Coach Ernesto always kept in touch and even though I'm older than him, he took the time to check in on me and let me know he was there, for life things not just jujitsu. My good friend Tony (early morning class tone setter) after 4 years of always throwing out that invite to come back… I finally took him up on it.… Last night I was awarded my Blue Belt along with other warriors I get to train with but Tony earned his Brown belt. God is good!!! Professor Flavio and his wife are amazing motivators and their talent supersedes any I've ever seen. This Team has become Family to me… it has filled that gap the Army left when I separated from military service. Hands down the best gym environment with superior Professors leading the way! Thx you Ares for all you do!!! Love y'all Fen

Great gym. I was in from out of town and they let me drop in with no mat fees. Super clean spot, with really nice people. Also I got rolled up pretty handedly, that means their Jits is good as well. Will be back next time I'm in Omaha.

No doubt one of the best gyms I've been to. The people are genuine, kind, and truly care about getting you involved in this awesome sport. No matter your experience, Ares BJJ has something for you. If you're nervous or anxious to get into any kind of martial art, Ares is the place to start!

Couldn't ask for anything better! My son wanted to try it out and he's learned a ton in the short time he's been there. The team is great with kids and walks through everything so the kids understand what is being asked. To top it off they are all very friendly! There is an adult class after the kids and they all seem to be excited for class to start as well. Overall it's a really great place!

I dropped in for both fundamentals and advanced gi classes and had a great time. Everyone was very welcoming and the instructors were very knowledgeable and helpful! Plus they have a great group of ladies to train with!

I'm a brown belt and visited Omaha for about a month and a half. I trained at Ares multiple times during my stay. Very welcoming environment from both the instructors and the students. I would recommend Ares BJJ Omaha to anyone in the area that is looking to train regardless of if you are a beginner or a seasoned practitioner.

COMMON QUESTIONS

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO WALK IN READY

Still have questions? Call (402) 319-5661 or email info@nebraskabjj.com; we'll get you set up for your free class.

Do I need any experience to start?

None at all. The majority of our new students walk in with zero Jiu-Jitsu background. Our fundamentals classes are specifically built for total beginners: we'll teach you everything from how to tie your belt to your first submissions.

What should I wear and bring to my first class?

For your free trial: athletic shorts (no zippers or pockets) and a t-shirt or rashguard are perfect. Bring a water bottle and an open mind. If you decide to stay, we'll help you pick out a gi.

What can I expect from my first class?

A coach will greet you, walk you through what we're working on that day, and pair you with a friendly training partner. You'll warm up, drill a technique, and (when you're ready) try some light positional work. No surprises, no pressure.

How old does my child need to be for kids classes?

Our kids program serves ages 5–15. Classes are organized by age and experience, so younger kids train with peers and older/more advanced kids get appropriately challenged.

Do you offer Gi and No-Gi classes?

Yes, both. We run dedicated Gi and No-Gi classes throughout the week, plus fundamentals, advanced, and open mat sessions. Check the full schedule for times.

What's your trial offer and pricing?

Your first class is completely free, no credit card, no pressure. After that, we offer monthly memberships with options for adults, kids, and families. Pricing is shared in person so we can match you to the right plan.
